Comfort is a sequel to Blue. I wrote it because Blue’s protagonist, Ann Fay Honeycutt would not let go of me. I kept hearing her voice in my head. In Blue she had survived difficult times. But I knew that life held more challenges for her.
I wanted to find out what happened next. So I began to explore Ann Fay’s life where Blue leaves off. In Comfort she faces the after-effects of polio and war. Her home life threatens to fall apart and going to school with a disability shakes her too. So she spends time in Warm Springs, Georgia where she not only receives therapy but also makes friends and gains a new self-confidence.
Her Warm Springs experience does not change the challenges at home but it does equip her for for facing them.
