Used Bookstores:

What is it about a store full of used books? Once I get in one I have a hard time getting out. Maybe it’s the magnificent old covers, the vintage art, or just the great prices! And then again it’s probably the sense of history. I love finding the name of a previous owner in a book. It makes me feel like someone has been there before me and that we’re sharing the journey!

Gardening:
When I was a child I didn’t have a choice about gardening. On May evenings, Daddy would drag the whole family to his huge garden to water potatoes or plant peanuts. On lazy July mornings, Mama would pull us out of bed to pick lima beans. And on hot summer evenings, we’d butter up some corn-on-the-cob, slice some tomatoes, and the rest was all good – dripping from our chins!

My garden will never compare to my daddy’s! But I’m always going to have a few tomatoes, squash and okra. To be honest, my gardening has mostly gone the way of flower beds. I do love the landscaping aspect of the flower gardens.
